Ten Years of NYE Celebrations - A Retrospective
★New Year’s Eve 2000 - Sleep Over at @DJabbour’s House:
On the eve of what many incorrectly believed to be the millennium, we ushered in the new year with the fear of Y2K. Thankfully for us, we were at Danny’s house, where technology reins supreme. Instead of fretting over unlikely events which were outside of our control, we enjoyed a lovely spread, including what were dubbed ‘evil...

The Worst Behaved of 2009
Tonight’s edition of Nightline is a mock awards show, highlighting the worst behaved people of 2009. In the ‘Worst Behaved Celebrity’ category, Tiger Woods just beat out Chris Brown. I’m sorry, but I think that beating your girlfriend into a bloody pulp is far worse than cheating on your wife. Tiger Woods is a piece of trash, but Chris Brown is a dangerous piece of trash.

This is great. A ‘suspicious’ van, abandoned in Times Square, has prompted a massive police response. And a cacophony of sirens, hampering my concentration and my ability to work. Bah. This is exactly why you will never find me in Times Square on New Year’s Eve!

✭Matinée Wednesday: Round Eight
When I was in high school, one of the things that I looked forward to was the annual music department trip. We would travel to places near and far to perform our repertoire and somehow learn about music along the way. My freshman year, we went to Baltimore and Colonial Williamsburg. My sophomore year was an amazing trip to Montréal, Canada, where we sang the...

The uncontested facts: After leaving the Tyson fight on Saturday September 7, 1996, Tupac was alledgedly shot 5 times. He lived through the shooting and was taken to a nearby hospital. He was pronounced dead on Friday September 13, 1996. The suspicious facts: Friday the 13th is a very suspicious day. There...

Last Christmas season, my cousin Daria made this fun little video. Since I think it’s hysterically embarrassing, I’d like to share it with all of you. Merry Christmas!

✭Matinée Wednesday: Round Seven
Willkommen, bienvenue, welcome… Im Cabaret, au Cabaret, to Cabaret!
Cabaret is one of my favorite musicals. It takes place during WWII in Nazi Germany. (That’s not why it’s one of my favorites). But really, doesn’t every musical placed in tempestuous wartime lend itself to being a hit? I think yes. I mean, look at Miss Siagon, Les...

CNN Recaps 2009's Lofty Celebrity Passings...
In an editorial by Lisa Respers France, posted here on cnn.com, most of the celebrities that have passed in 2009 are remembered. Those that are obvious to the list, for example, Michael Jackson, Patrick Swazye, and Bea Arthur, come as no surprise to the reader. However, one name strikes me as being odd and, dare I say, inappropriate.
Among respected men such as late Massachusetts Senator, Ted...

Ticket Stub Tuesday… Round Fourteen:
This definitely wasn’t the first Eren Cannata Band show that I’ve been to, but it was certainly the first for which I was issued a ticket! Eren Cannata is the son of saxophone great Ritchie Cannata, who rose to fame as Billy Joel’s saxophonist in the 1970s and 80s.
My friend Nicole became friendly with Eren when we were still in high...
