Today, @SaraBareilles debuted her video for “King of Anything,” the lead single of her upcoming album Kaleidoscope Heart. I love this video almost as I love Ms. Bareilles. It’s so wonderful. She looks absolutely beautiful. I can not wait for the album to be released — 7 September 2010 — the day before my 25th birthday! Happy Birthday to me!

Compose Yourself
Using only song names from ONE ARTIST (It can be a composer, lyricist, or performer), cleverly answer these questions. Pass it on to 15 people, include me. You can’t use the artist I used. Try not to repeat a song title. It’s a lot harder than you think! PICK YOUR ARTIST: No Doubt WHAT’S YOUR NAME? Cellophane Boy DESCRIBE YOURSELF: A Little Something Refreshing WHAT ARE YOU WEARING?...

✭Matinée Wednesday: Round Thirty…
Last night @TGH3RD surprised me with tickets to see the hit revival, Promises, Promises, which stars Broadway vet Kristen Chenoweth and in his Broadway debut, Sean Hayes, of Will & Grace fame. Running for just over two hours and forty-five minutes, (including a fifteen minute intermission) I can honestly say that time flew by. The audience of the...

What the World Needs:
I was just thinking: What this world needs more than anything is for everyone to have a passport and for everyone to have unlimited resources to travel. People are scared of being different — they are scared of different things, different places, different people. This causes hostility. If everyone was just able to learn about and embrace these differences, maybe things wouldn’t be so...

Nature is So Cool...
So, I was just outside in the garden watering (because, you know, this is what I do since I got laid off) and I found this little guy in the dirt.
The egg wasn’t cracked or broken or anything, so I surmised that it had fallen out of the nest due to the wind, or something. The only problem is, I couldn’t find a nest in any of the trees near where this guy landed. So, I walked around...

Today’s Topic: Preppies vs. Hipsters-
In a world where Lacoste and Levis are sold at Urban Outfitters, I got to thinking: what’s the difference between hipsters and preppies? Coming from a preppy background myself, and being a consumer of Urban Outfitters, I wondered when these lines of social distinction became blurred. Sure, these days you can wear an argyle v-neck to a cocktail...

✭Matinée Wednesday: Round Twenty-Nine…
Alfred Hitchcock’s The 39 Steps has got to be one of the funniest shows that I have ever seen. Usually when we think of Hitchcock’s work, we thing of spooky, unsettling thrillers, but not in this case. This show is funny, witty and packed with physical comedy. Originally opening on Broadway, and winning two Tony Awards during that run, just...

✭Matinée Wednesday: Round Twenty-Eight…
An original comedy about guys with one tiny problem, The Irish Curse debuted at the SoHo Playhouse on St. Patrick’s Day, 2010. At the time, I was working for EMG, and we handled the advertising of the show. When I first read the script, I was caught off guard. I was expecting to read about a bunch of guys with drinking problems. Boy was I wrong....
