Over the weekend, two waring pizza parlors made all of the NY headlines. 2 Bros Pizza and Pizza King have been competitively slashing their prices, the result being unheard of here in New York: 75¢ slices of pizza! I wanted to do a little investigating, so I made the two block trek to 6th Avenue and 37th Street to buy a few slices of my own. I opted for 2 Bros because they received an “A” as opposed to Pizza King’s “B.” What the hell am I talking about? Please refer to this post: “Grade Pending.”
My experience at @2 Bros Pizza  was very favorible. Delicious pizza, even better price! I paid just $2.25 for two slices and a can of seltzer. Just about the cheapest lunch one could buy in Midtown. This got me thinking about other things that should be 75¢ here in Manhattan, but are marked up:

Bagels (Usually bagels with butter OR cream cheese are only 75¢, but  sometimes you come across the greedy street vendor who charges $1)
Pretzels (I’ve paid as much a $3 for a pretzel before!)
Hotdogs (This is pushing it, but I think more hotdogs would sell for 75¢)
A small cup of Coffee (Usually just $1, but if paired with a 75¢ bagel, that’s a nice breakfast for just $1.50)
I think that Mayor Bloomberg should make this his platform for his fourth term re-election bid. Trust me, he’s going for another term.
