Despite my seemingly incessant bitching about the #LIRR (Long Island Rail Road), I have this love/hate relationship towards it. While the service is haphazard at best, and Penn Station is a filthy shit-hole, I still love trains. I just think they’re neat.

Currently, at the 34th street exit, the MTA is displaying a series of photos from days of yore. What’s the occasion you ask? Non other than the 100th anniversary of the first departure of an LIRR train from Penn Station. The exact date of this milestone was September 8, 2010 - AKA, my 25th birthday.

While I may not be the biggest fan of the LIRR or the MTA, this is something that we share and I think that’s pretty cool.
