This year, the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade route has changed. For all of you non-New Yorkers that actually read my blog (if there are any) our mayor, Michael Bloomberg, has, over the last year, closed Broadway to traffic. Large portions of the thoroughfare are for pedestrians and bicycle traffic only. This means the no more floats down Broadway. Tear. Therefore, the route needed to be changed. So, now, between 42nd and 34th streets, the route travels down 6th avenue, Avenue of the Americas, which is where my office is located (40th and 6th)! Yay! Too bad we changed spaces and no longer have a view of 6th. Double tear. (Not that I’d even be able to come in tomorrow to watch the parade b/c I’m running the Garden City Turkey Trot.) It would have been cool, though!
