Thirteen years ago today, the Spice Girls’ second single, “Say You’ll Be There” was released. (It was released stateside nearly seven months later on 6 May 1997). The girls’ aliases, along with other plot elements of the video, were inspired by Quintin Tarantino’s Pulp Fiction. The video was nominated for both a VMA and a BRIT in 1997.  Sadly, it won neither.
