Two years ago today, the Spice Girls released their last single, to date, Headlines (Friendship Never Ends), which was the lead single off their “Greatest Hits” album. Along with Stop, Headlines (Friendship Never Ends) has the dubious honour of being one of the only two singles released by the Spice Girls not to achieve the number one spot in their native U.K. Furthermore, Headlines peaked at #11, being the only Spice Girls single not to reach the top ten. While considered a commercial failure, it was the official 2007 Children in Need single and was performed during the Return of the Spice Girls tour in 2007 and 2008.

Sugar and Spice and everything nice… Round 7:
Headlines (Friendship Never Ends) - the last and, as of this date, most recent commercially released Spice Girls single. Some, (including Melanie C. and Caitlin “Pasty” WhiterthanyouriPod), do not care very much for this song. Granted, it’s probably not the wisest choice for a reunion single but, I happen to like it very much. Perhaps its nostalgia; the fact that it’s the first single the that the Spice Girls released as a quintet since 1998, I thoroughly enjoy it. In December 2007, the charity Children In Need choose this song as its official single. Here, the girls perform it live for the second time (the first being the Victoria Secret Fashion Show). Please note that at three minutes and 5 seconds into the clip, Melanie C. totally feels-up Geri. Lesbionic!
What is this?
Was there some Spice Girls cd reunion thing featuring new music that snuck by me? Was it when they went on tour together a couple of years ago? Because, if so, I didn’t realize that meant they had new music…
I’m embarrassed to admit I don’t know anything about this song or this subject right now, but would certainly love to know what the hell I missed?
Yeah, there was a little something called The Return of the Spice Girls Tour, which ran from 2 December 2007 until 26 February 2008. There was a “Greatest Hits” album, which featured two new songs: “Voodoo” and the lead single, “Headlines (Friendship Never Ends),” the video to which you have posted above. In addition to incorporating this song into their tour, they preformed it live twice, once at the “Victoria Secret Fashion Show,” along with “Stop,” and again at the “Children In Need” benefit show, for which it was the official single.
